How Cutalo works, step by step
No timeline, no manual cuts, no hand exports. From a long video to clips you can post in about three minutes the first time.
Step 1. Add your video
Paste a YouTube link, or drag in a local file: mp4, mov, mkv or webm. Cutalo downloads or reads the source and starts listening. For YouTube, you need an internet connection; for local files, the work happens entirely on your machine.
Step 2. Pick a focus
Choose how many clips you want, the output format (9:16, 1:1 or 16:9) and an AI angle. The angles are educational, humor, sales and quotes, or you can write your own instruction. This is the only decision you have to make.
Step 3. Let the AI mark the best parts
Cutalo transcribes the audio, then sends the transcript to the AI provider you configured. The AI returns the moments with the strongest hook, and Cutalo turns each one into a clip. You can review them before rendering.
Step 4. Export and post
Every clip comes out with captions, the dead silence removed and an optional end card. Download them and upload straight to Reels, TikTok, Shorts or LinkedIn. No re-encoding, no extra app.
What about the first run?
The very first time, Cutalo downloads the speech model used for transcription. After that, local videos work offline. If you bring a long podcast or a full stream, the AI stage is the only part that depends on your provider's speed.
